Our goal is simple, create a platform for as many local cyclists as possible to ride their bikes.

The VB cycling community enables our members to meet like-minded people, who can lean on each other for advice, company and friendship, on and off the bike. This is why we put so much effort into organising social rides and events.

We do our utmost to accommodate and provide opportunity for everyone, no matter their cycling ability. We have dedicated social rides, training rides, women only rides and in 2022 started encouraging people to try racing for the first time.

  • Join Our Social Rides

    Cycling can really improve our physical health, but it can also have an amazing, positive impact on mental well-being - especially when we ride with others!

    Riding with others can increase our motivation to get outside and can help us push ourselves to go further or faster than we would alone.

    But perhaps more importantly, it provides a sense of camaraderie and community, which in turn can help relieve the stresses daily life chucks at us.
    We meet people on group rides who we wouldn’t normally chat to and make friends we otherwise wouldn’t have had.

    Group rides make us more accountable, show us new places to explore and new cafés to eat at..and we can all learn a thing or two from more experienced riders!

    This sense of community - people to talk to, on and off the bike, is a massive reason why we put so much effort into organising social rides and events.

  • Race For Team VB

    The VB race team is all about inclusivity. Since 2021 we have been encouraging and supporting riders from all walks of life to give racing a go.

    Our aim has been to open doors to lesser represented groups within cycling and create opportunities for as many people as possible.

    This has led to an amazing culture within our riders and tremendous camaraderie, on and off the bike.

    ...and over the years we have had some incredible results to back this up, including multiple national champions in Paracycling and Masters racing.

    Our team currently consists of riders from 2nd to 4th category, male and female.

    Velo Bavarian RT was the #1 ranked team in the East Midlands in 2023, a title we are proud of and want to defend in 2024.
